Autumn Arrives

September 22, 2012 is the first day of Fall.  This is my favorite time of the year.  The colors are so warm and rich.  The air is crisp.  The early morning frost and a cup of coffee is my favorite start.

Susie and I have been busy with Etsy and Ebay.  I don’t think we were prepared for the blessings we received.  We are having the time of our life shopping and filling our on-line shops with so many vintage items.

I have added a few of the items that have the beautiful fall colors.

Carnival Glass - $100

Hand blown vintage vase
$55

Red Stripe Decanter

Squirrel Candy Dish

We hope you have a
wonderful weekend.

HAPPY FALL

Friday's Finds

Friday's Finds

Wynne postcard post card - Merryman Street, Wynne, AR

While out and about in Wynne, we went shopping in the local thrift stores.  My all time favorite thing to do on the weekends.  We went downtown, which is such nostalgia for me.  Growing up going shopping on Saturday mornings.
Van Atkin's was a store on Merryman Street in Wynne when I was young.  Now, I go in there and it is a flea market.  The picture above is a vintage postcard of Merryman Street.

Here are some pictures of the treasures in Wynne.

How pretty.  This would look great in my vintage glass collection.

Frosted glasses are my favorites.

This would have been fun to have when I was younger.

I have seen these cast iron stars all over blogworld.  I had to do some research and found out they are masonry stars used in brick buildings many years ago.  They were bolted to the outside of the buildings to help stabilize the bow in the structure.  Now days, they are in the walls.  Cast iron wasn't as strong as the steel they use today.  I see myself looking at old buildings in search of stars.

This vase is my absolute favorite!  I wish I knew a little more about it.  I have searched google images and can't seem to find this or one close enough.  If anyone knows anything, please tell me.

Have a Wonderful Labor Day!
